Eight years ago, when my husband was offered a promotion at work, we moved into the Fairmount area from a suburb of NYC. Fairmount was the perfect location since his new office was on 21st and Market Streets, an easy walk on a nice sunny day.
Having all the conveniences of the city and all the culture from the museums, shops, and restaurants made the transition to the Fairmount area very smooth. One thing that I think really surprised us was that even with all the hustle and bustle of city life, Fairmount has a small-town feel. People actually know their neighbors and local business owners. We support our local businesses, schools, and community organizations.
